The position requires strong resource and time management skills. Qualified candidates will present a friendly and professional demeanor to customers and colleagues.This person will work with a software development engineering team and will participate in designing, integrating, testing, and deploying software application programs. This role is responsible for providing technical applications support and implementation of the company's truck tech products in remote locations (some traveling required).ResponsibilitiesCreate and run database queries to update delivery information and provide customer reportingUpdate and maintain existing programs to support optimization of delivery and customer support processAutomate existing manual data-entry processesSupport the mechanical technology in our delivery trucks including configuration, triage and support of handheld scanning devices, metering devices, communication and network devices, and supporting infrastructureIdentify and troubleshoot software bugs and work with developers on fixes to be loaded on the device.Be available to answer phone calls from users late at night when necessaryOpen and monitor incidents, including error messages + API Support, with 3rd party providersProvide training to clients in usage and maintenance of devices including initial equipment setup, device diagnostics and support, and performing routine administrative tasksProvisioning Configuration of the devices enabling and disabling featuresApplication and non-application software installation, update, and managementTaking full ownership of assigned tasks and keeping customers well-informed about the progressTravel to multiple company or customer sites throughout the yearProvide remote and on-site support of handheld technologyHandle all levels of support with Ability to collaborate and communicate technical issues to truck drivers with minimal technical knowledgeRequired Skills/QualificationsSelf-starter with the self-discipline to schedule and complete tasks without direct supervisionUnderstanding of development best practices and sprint cyclesBackground in Computer Science, Engineering, Electronics or a related fieldDeep understanding of IT fundamentalsUnderstanding of relational databases and database managementCritical reasoning skills and ability to listen and acquire critical informationExcellent communication skills including proficiency in verbal and written EnglishWilling to travel overnight and work weekends when necessaryData and analytics experience on any platformAbility to quickly grasp and adopt new technologiesProvide API support and technical issue resolution via multiple support channels,Previous work with mobile devices, where memory and storage space may be limited on bandwidth or communication, such as in wireless connectivity is a plusExperience with the installation of Mid:com and LCR registers is a plusAbility to multi-task, attention to detail, and strong motivational skillsTechnical AbilitiesWindows architecture, Control Panel and System settingsSQL Querying (TSQL preferred)SQL Management StudioAny object-oriented programming language (previous programs to maintain will be in Python)Able to understand and troubleshoot system/API/applications flowsProficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel)This job description lists the primary responsibilities and duties for this position.
