Job Description:
The Manager of Food Safety & Quality Assurance is responsible
for planning and executing our food safety & quality assurance
processes and programs across the Shamrock Food manufacturing
divisions. The Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager develops,
maintains and manages all aspects of quality assurance, food
safety, and raw/finished product compliance. (S)he provides
oversight over Quality and Sanitation programs to ensure compliance
with food safety and quality requirements. (S)he provides oversight
and direction over engineering projects to ensure compliance with
food safety and quality requirements.Essential Duties:Manage the
oversight of Food Safety, Quality, Suppliers and Compliance
programsServe as an internal FSQA manufacturing resource on food
safety regulations, laws, policies and procedures of FDA, USDA and
other regulatory entitiesSupport the development and implementation
of the FSQA strategy, goals, and objectivesReview product testing
and sampling requirements to ensure protocols are effective in
ensuring food safety and product specifications are met.Manage the
product Recall/Withdrawal programPartner with other business units
and external stakeholders on regulatory, customer, and third-party
food safety auditsDrive simplification and standardization of FSQA
process to ensure a continuous improvement mindset across the
enterpriseProvide FSQA support for all product safety and quality
issues (specification, complaint, recall/withdrawal, etc.)Analyze
and report food safety data, metrics and trends to monitor and
drive continuous food safety performance improvementSupport the
development and maintenance of the vendor quality programs; manage
on-boarding, evaluations and audits, policies and procedures, and
other functions related to vendor or product qualityDevelop and
implement annual enterprise training content, requirements, and
frequencies for FSQA standards and practicesCreate and maintain
FSQA training materials and operating manuals.Must have strong
organizational ability and demonstrate skill in creation of
innovative ways to organize and maintain records.Work with
contracted chemical supply representatives on review and
enhancement of sanitation programs.Other duties as
assigned.Qualifications:Bachelor s degree in science required (Food
Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field). Master s
degree preferred.5+ years of experience in food safety & quality
assurance in Food Manufacturing2+ years managing others, projects
or programsPCQI, HACCP Trained, and SQF Practitioner
(preferred)Working knowledge of regulatory compliance with USDA,
FDA, CFR, and managing third-party auditing schemes (For Example:
GFSI, SQF, GMP, Food Code).Ability to review regulatory
requirements, evaluate compliance, and implementing
changeExperience with regulatory inspections20% travel anticipated
and requiredMust be flexible and willing to work the demands of the
department which may be subject to evenings, weekends and
