Accounting Analyst to join our high-performing finance team. Every
day you will make a difference in the lives of others by performing
detailed cost and financial analyses and providing recommendations
to ensure the efficient utilization of resources and proper
accounting of transactions. Essential Duties: Is responsible for
departmental entries and account reporting, including budget,
forecast and actuals. Performs detailed cost and financial
analysis, forecasts, and projections. Monitors account
expenditures; maintains and reconciles account budgets; evaluates
against budget guidelines. Assists in the annual budget and
biannual forecast processes as well as preparation of operational
and budget worksheets. Performs variance analysis (budget vs.
actuals, forecast vs. actuals). Analyzes and interprets financial
data for decision making and planning. Communicates with EdPlus and
ASU staff on their financial plans and answers policy, budget, and
procedure questions. Identifies areas of concern and recommends
appropriate corrective measures. Supports accounting- and
finance-related process improvement initiatives. Supports month-end
and year-end close with financial reporting and analysis. Builds
and maintains financial models to support strategic
decision-making. Prepares management reports, dashboards, and
presentations for review. Assumes or coordinates other duties or
projects as assigned or directed. NOTE : This is not a fully remote
position. Must be able to reliably commute to Scottsdale AZ.
Desired Qualifications: Evidence of a bachelor's degree or higher
in a related field. Experience working at ASU or another higher
education institution. Demonstrated skills and experience with
auditing. Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles,
practices, and procedures. Evidence of strong Excel skills.
Experience in preparing financial and management reports on a
timely basis. Demonstrated skill in performing numerical
calculations. Evidence of excellent verbal and written
communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in
an environment subject to quickly changing and potentially
conflicting priorities. Demonstrated willingness and desire for
continuous learning and advancing personal skillset. Salary &
Benefits: $54,600 - $67,000 per year; DOE ASU offers a total
