- High school diploma or GED
- One year of experience operating trucks and equipment
- Valid Arizona Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with no
restrictions and a tanker endorsement
- State and federal regulations require Maricopa County to
conduct a pre-employment safety history investigation for all
positions that require an applicant to possess a commercial
driver's license (CDL). Maricopa County is also required to conduct
a pre-employment safety history investigation for positions that
directly impact commercial motor vehicle safety but may not
specifically require a valid CDLWe Also Value
- Two or more years of transportation construction or roadway
maintenance experienceJob Contributions
- Operate a variety of trucks and equipment in accordance with
all safety regulations and procedures
- Haul materials and transport vehicles and equipment to job
sites using various trucks
- Perform manual labor assignments as needed
- Inspect, clean, and perform routine maintenance work on trucks
and equipment; identify and report mechanical problems requiring
additional repair
- Complete required daily logs and prepare reports; attend safety
meetings
- Perform traffic control activities as needed; report safety
hazards and traffic problems
- Complete daily written reports and enter information into the
Cartegraph asset management systemWorking Conditions
- Exerting over 100 pounds occasionally, 50 - 100 pounds
frequently, or up to 20 - 50 pounds constantly
- Incumbent may be subjected to extreme temperatures,
wetness/humidity, respiratory hazards, and noise and vibration
- Incumbent may be subjected to moving mechanical parts,
vibrations, fumes, odors, dust, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils,
extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions,
